Welcome To Lit-O-Fest

An internationally acclaimed cultural platform celebrating ideas, creativity, and meaningful dialogue.

Lit-O-Fest Mumbai has become a beacon for intellectual and artistic expression, bringing together eminent thinkers, celebrated authors, and passionate emerging voices. From our editions in Mumbai and Delhi to our global chapter at London's House of Lords in the British Parliament, we've created a space where contemporary thought meets cultural heritage, and where every conversation has the power to inspire change.

Beyond the Stage: Real Impact

Our commitment extends far beyond literary gatherings. We've adopted a village in Maharashtra, where we're actively improving literacy rates through school support, libraries, e-learning programs, and confidence-building initiatives for children. This grassroots work reflects our belief that access to education and creative expression can transform entire communities. Our vision is to expand this mission across India, one village at a time.

Launching Literary Careers

Through our innovative Manuscript Contest, we've introduced over 50 debut authors to India's literary landscape, offering credible platforms across multiple genres. We don't just celebrate established voices—we nurture the next generation of storytellers.

Lit-O-Fest Mumbai 2026 arrives in collaboration with Chandigarh University—our most ambitious, innovative, and inclusive edition yet.

Ms. Smita GLK Parikh

Festival Founder & Director

Smita GLK Parikh is a Hindi poet, radio professional, voice-over artist, actor, and anchor whose work bridges literature, arts, and culture. Her approach to culture is rooted in conversation, not spectacle—creating spaces where words, voices, and people connect authentically.

Recognized early with the Rajasthan Sahitya Academy Award at age 15, she has since received the Maharana Mewar Foundation Award for Poetry, Vatayan International Award in London for Literature and Culture, APJ Abdul Kalam Award, and several other honors for her contributions.

Born in Indore, raised in Udaipur, and based in Mumbai, Smita carries the rhythms of small towns and global cities within her work. This duality allows tradition to speak in contemporary ways while giving new voices familiar ground.

Since founding Lit-O-Fest Mumbai in 2014, she has grown it into a respected cultural platform that extends beyond celebration—supporting health, education, and holistic development in Dahigaon village, Maharashtra. In 2018, the festival expanded internationally with a chapter at London's House of Lords, British Parliament, deepening cultural dialogue across borders.

Smita continues to engage with artists, writers, and communities, guided by the belief that culture, nurtured with sincerity, has the power to heal, unite, and illuminate lives.
