Festival Founder & Director
- Ms Smita GLK Parikh

Smita GLK Parikh’s work lives in the space where words, voices, music, and people meet.

Rooted in poetry and shaped by broadcasting, her journey has unfolded over decades through literature, arts, culture, and live experiences- each becoming a way to listen, to connect, and to create shared moments of meaning. A Hindi poet, radio professional, voice-over artist, actor, and anchor, she approaches culture not as spectacle, but as conversation.

Awarded by the prestigious Rajasthan Sahitya Academy Award at the age of 15 for best fiction, followed by Maharana Mewar Foundation Award for Poetry writing, Vatayan International Award in London for her contribution in the field of Literature and Culture, APJ Abdul Kalam Awardand and several others to her credit.

Born in Indore, raised in Udaipur, and shaped by life in Mumbai, Smita carries within her the rhythms of small towns and the pulse of global cities. This duality gently informs her work, allowing tradition to speak in contemporary ways and new voices to find familiar ground.

Her association with Lit-O-Fest Mumbai reflects this philosophy, a space where literature, arts, and music come together with openness and care. Since 2014, the festival has grown into a respected

cultural platform while quietly extending its purpose beyond celebration to support health, education, and holistic development in Dahigaon village, Maharashtra.

In 2018, this journey crossed borders with the London chapter of Lit-O-Fest Mumbai at the House of Lords, British Parliament, opening doors to deeper cultural dialogue across geographies.

Based in Mumbai, Smita continues to engage with artists, writers, institutions, and communities, guided by a simple belief that culture, when nurtured with sincerity, has the power to heal, unite, and illuminate lives.
